Sigils

When an Icon attunes to a crystal, a sigil appears on their skin and represents their powers. A sigil is tied to a specific Icon character (note: not an Icon token).

Sigils have three core components:

  1. Inscriptions

  2. Enchants

  3. Embeds

Inscriptions

Inscriptions are the visual representation of the Sigil. Similar to Skins, Inscriptions are created by artists and thus the Sigil is also an ERC-2981 compatible token. You can think of an Inscription as an Icon’s tattoo. Each inscription has a total number allowed, a royalty amount, and aesthetics that define it. You specify the inscription when creating a sigil. Our goal with Inscriptions is to create a robust platform for artists to create rich content on top of our game for our users.

Enchants

A Sigil will have 3 enchant slots. Each enchant slot has a level and a list of the enchants unlocked on that slot. There will be 5 levels and 5 unlockable enchants per slot. Thus, to max out a Sigil Enchants, you must unlock 15 enchants and upgrade each enchant slot 15 times as well.

Before the game, users will create presets for which sigils they want equipped on each Icon and which of the 5 enchants per slot they want to use in-game. Similar to League of Legends’ runes or Pokémon items, these enchants do impact gameplay. Thus, there will be an in-game difference between a level 1 enchant slot and a level 5 one. However, all users will have the ability to upgrade to level 5, making our game fair and balanced but also creating a rich progression system.

Embeds

A sigil can be embedded with an EmbedPassive. An EmbedPassive provides ecosystem bonuses when the sigil is used in game. After embedded, a Sigil embed can additionally be upgraded, up to a maximum level of 10. We will launch with the following EmbedPassives, but may add more later:

  1. Essence Token Earning Increase

  2. Chance for Chest Drop

  3. Crystal Token Tickets Reward

  4. Chance to Restore Essence Token Stamina

  5. Icon XP Earning Bonus

After embedding or upgrading an embed, the Sigil Embed is locked for a set period of time. During this time, there will be no earning bonuses from the Sigil. The Sigil can still be used in-game with its unlocked enchants though.
